SOUTH AFRICAN CHESS PROFESSIONL LEAGUE

South African Chess Professional League is an initiative to promote the chess talent in South Africa. The primary aim is to provide chess teams & clubs with a platform to parcitipate, demonstrate, and thrive in the game of kings. The game is a beautiful artwork that is nothing less than a playground for ample learning and development. It is widely popular and is extensively loved across the nation. Even so, it is observed that less and less people want to pursue chess professionally. A multitude of people indulge and excel in chess, but less than a fraction is willing to entrust their future to the game. Chess in South Africa does not invite sizeable sponsorships, which results in a lack of infrastructure and relevant opportunities for the youth. Consequently, chess is considered to be just a pleasure game than a professional sport.

Mr Kalunga is an avid chess lover and enthusiast who is deeply passionate about the growth of an active chess culture in a diverse South Africa. He brings a patient, motivating dimension to coaching while striving to harness the individual’s potential. Enjoyment of the game and the chess experience is fundamental in his approach to the holistic development of the player.
